Viralized Transgenics that is what Genetically Midified Organisms really are.9

Frank Aragona of Agroinnovations is correct in his description of GMOs. The manufacture of GMOs is the same as what infective viruses do to alter the genetic material of its host. It injects its own DNA into the host to hijack its reproductive capacity thereby producing more viruses. In the case of Viralized Transgenics, Transgenic technology companies inject altered genetic material into a plant or animal with a view to having that organism change its genetic characteristics so as to produce and altered plant (though looking like its host).

 

Lots of health issues have been reported in Viralized Transgenic organisms that have been found by farmers and scientists. More on this. 10

 

 

The makers of Viralized Transgenics(GM) foods tell their potential customers that their GM seeds are safe and nutritious and are going to save the world from impending famine due to global warming.

 

It seems that since the introduction of GM seeds into the environment in about 1994, there has been very little evidence coming from these GM seed manufacturers on either account.

 

I do not claim to be an expert on this topic, but from what I have read and seen, I would definitely suggest great caution in consuming GM foods.

SAFETY ISSUES

 

It seems that GM DNA does survive in the human gastrointestinal tract 1 This means that even after processing by the stomach and the gut. In 3 of 7 (43%) of those studied, the altered DNA was found in the gut of folks already before this study was made. That is they were already contaminated before the study was started. Since these are man made genes, they can only have come from ingestion of GM foods containing the altered DNA

 

The bacteria in the gut of these individuals was altered and containing the GM DNA. It has been said that it may be impossible for those individuals to ever be rid of these organisms completely.

"This means that long after we stop eating GMOs, we may still have potentially harmful GM proteins produced continuously inside of us. Put more plainly, eating a corn chip produced from Bt corn might transform our intestinal bacteria into living pesticide factories, possibly for the rest of our lives." 2

 

"Female rats given a supplement of GM Roundup Ready Soya beginning two weeks before mating and continuing afterwards through pregnancy and lactation produced litters in which more than a third of the pups were severely stunted, and over half of the pups died within three weeks after birth.2

 

..... They are the latest in a long line of evidence from all over the world indicating that GM food and feed may be inherently hazardous to animal and human health. " 2

Failure to regulate properly

As a member of the people of this planet, and an elector of public officials, I would expect that those officials designated to ensure public health, food safety, and the administration of Justice would do a more ethical job than one described in the article "Refined Foods are Bad, But These May Be Far Worse".

 

Here's hoping that justice and common sense would prevail in this matter and far better surveillance and regulation would take place. I am not holding my breath on it though since many in top regulatory positions have links to GM producers. Look at their former positions prior to holding their regulatory roles AND also look at where they end up after a few short years later. Many of the scientists have funding links also to GM producers.

Fertility issues

 

Farmers have experienced fertility problems in livestock fed on GM corn. 4  It is very informative to see the whole of the series which has been shown on SBS TV (Australia) "Google video" for Monsanto and patent and pig it comes in 5 parts on YouTube

 

There have been increasing fertility problems in humans, with falling sperm counts and inability to conceive. Is it possible that GM foods are to blame?

 

If you are having difficulty falling pregnant, One simple thing you could do is to eliminate GM foods from you and your family's diet

 

Foods codes to watch for

Here’s what you should look for (modified from mercola.com) 5:

 

• A four-digit number means the produce is conventionally grown (eg 1234)
• A five-digit number beginning with 8 means it's GM (eg 81234)

• A five-digit number beginning with 9 means it's organic (eg 91234)

 

Nearly all of the folllowing foods are GM so it is wise to avoid them:

• Soy and foods made from them such as tofu, meat substitute, soy milk, cheese, ice cream and yoghurt, vege  burgers etc
• Corn and foods made from them such as corn chips, tortilla base, corn bread, corn starch, etc.
• Cottonseed used in oil production often used in fast food places to fry foods
• Canola used in oil production often used in fast food places to fry foods

 

                           

It would also be wise to limit products made from these ingredients, such as vegetable oils, maltodextrin and high-fructose corn syrup. In fact, because corn and soy are so widely used in processed foods, at least 70 percent of the processed foods at your supermarket contain GM ingredients.

That’s seven out of every 10 products!

Just another strong reason to avoid eating processed foods.

Other GMO products include:

• Some varieties of zucchini, crookneck squash, and papayas from Hawaii
• Milk containing rbGH
• Rennet (containing Viralized Transgenicsenzymes) used to make hard cheeses
• Aspartame (NutraSweet)

  • Omega-3 oils from GM soy bean oil (potentially get your pesticide with the oil you want to protect your heart - does that make sense? Not in my mind. 11


 

Avoiding all of the products listed above, unless they are certified organic, is one way to cut down on your intake of GM foods.
